Bordeaux – France
Bordeaux, a destination that everyone will love! Bordeaux is easy to get to and is accessible to all. Ideal for a long weekend, why not wander down the fully developed waterfront, stretching along the banks of the Garonne River. A visit to the lake is also a great way to spend the weekend surrounded by nature, kick back and enjoy the sun; and while you’re there why not go to watch the Girondins de Bordeaux in the excellent Matmut Atlantique stadium? This stadium is both modern and well connected, one of the best in France, and has its own unique architecture. If you’re a wine-lover, we would nudge you in the direction of the Cité du Vin, a real delight for those partial to a fine vintage. In June, the city organizes its wine festival on the waterfront, with several wine tasting stands and workshops.
Extend your stay in the region and head out in the direction of the Bay of Arcachon, where you can enjoy the best oysters in France, accompanied by a good local wine, bien sur! The bay is known for its laid-back pace of life, its houses nestled under shady pine trees and its famous Dune du Pyla. Go take a look around and, who knows, maybe you’ll bump into the actors from the film ‘Camping’.
